Fine Art Reproduction PhotographyLondon.

Careful photographic reproduction of paintings, drawings and mixed media artworks, based in London.

Light and Surface

Careful photographic reproduction of paintings, drawings and mixed media artworks, with particular attention to colour relationships, tonal structure and surface presence.

Light is controlled progressively across the artwork, often using multiple exposures, allowing the image to be built incrementally rather than flattened through a single lighting setup. This approach helps preserve the structure of the work — the way colour sits within the surface, the depth of darker passages, and the subtle transitions that give the piece its physical presence.

By layering light in this way, texture, detail and spatial qualities remain intact. Brushwork, fine line, delicate tonal variation and material differences are rendered with clarity, allowing the photograph to retain the character and visual weight of the original object.

Each artwork is approached individually, with the process shaped to ensure the final image reflects the balance, depth and coherence of the work itself.

Final files are suitable for print reproduction, artist portfolios, catalogue publication and online presentation.

High-resolution capture and calibrated colour workflow ensure consistency from capture through to delivery.

Technical approach

High-resolution full-frame capture and calibrated colour workflow ensure consistency from capture through to delivery. Lighting is arranged to provide even illumination across the artwork while minimising reflection and glare. The layered exposure method allows tonal relationships and surface qualities to resolve naturally, helping retain the dimensional structure and material presence of the original work.

Files are prepared to a standard suitable for high-quality print reproduction and digital publication.

Each artwork is considered individually in order to determine the most appropriate lighting approach. Where useful, preliminary captures can be reviewed to ensure that colour, tonal balance and surface qualities correspond closely to the original work. This allows small refinements to be made before final files are produced, supporting consistency and reliability across both print and digital reproduction.

Files are delivered as high-resolution TIFFs suitable for giclée printing, catalogue publication and archival documentation.

The same approach is applied consistently, whether for a single work or an extended body of paintings. Work produced in this way has been published by Thames & Hudson, and the method has supported projects involving artists selected by Sir Ben Okri and Rosemary Clunie.

We welcome commissions from artists, galleries and private collectors across London and the UK.

Let’s Work Together

If you have a project in mind, we would be glad to discuss your fine art reproduction photography requirements. A few details about the artwork — size, medium and intended use — are usually enough to advise on approach, timing and fees.
